Courtesy of an OG cellar, here’s a lovely pre-holiday Comtesse list.
Though these vintages hardly need clarifying, it’s worth noting that a recent bottle of the 1986 was particularly beautiful. Luxuriously textured and showing tons of Comtesse’s cellar-sweetened cassis, the wine has never known a more perfect moment.
A last word for the 2000. At a vintage retrospective tasting this past January Comtesse easily won its little Pauillac grouping. More than one first growth in there, too.
Cheers,
Jason
