This tidy, mostly-in-stock spread spotlights the much-celebrated modern era of this venerable Vosne estate.
Beginning with the 2017s we see a dramatic stylistic shift toward a level of purity and refinement not previously achieved here. Whole-clusters mark the wines more strongly and textures soften toward silk or velvet, appellation depending.
Above all the wines are simply more joyful from 2017 on. Aromatic profiles show greater generosity and width than before. You see this in the 2017 Vosne ‘Les Chaumes’ we recently had occasion to revisit. Historically more a wine of power than refinement, Charles’ vitalized framing announces the new era here more alertly and persuasively than mere description can match.
