2024 Moritz Kissinger ‘O Ohm’ Blanc, Rheinhessen

Moritz Kissinger is part of Germany’s new natural wine vanguard, and “0 Ohm” is his flagship zero/zero white—no added sulfur, no filtering, no fining, and maximum energy. The name is a playful nod to resistance (or lack thereof), and this wine delivers exactly that: unimpeded, unpolished freshness in a bottle.

A field blend (typically Müller-Thurgau, Riesling, and other regional varieties), it’s fermented with native yeasts and bottled with a slight haze and a ton of vitality. The 2023 vintage is super fresh—lime zest, green herbs, crunchy pear, and a slight yeasty lift. There’s bright acidity, a touch of texture from time on the lees, and a lightly cloudy appearance that signals its unfiltered, unbothered soul.
