Jean-Paul Thévenet took over his family's domaine in 1980 and works in the vineyard alongside his son Charly, both of whom are staunch believers in the power of natural wine. Thévenet was instrumental in increasing the quality of Beaujolais overall and was included in Kermit Lynch’s Gang of 4 producers. All vines are hand-harvested and are naturally low-yielding. The Morgon 'Vieilles Vignes' is made from 70 year old vines grown in decomposed granite and sand soil with a traditional 100% whole cluster fermentation.
